It’s been said that Mayfield-Graves County puts the "Wild" in Wild West KY. It could be because of our Wild West KY BBQ. After all, Graves County is home to the Fancy Farm Picnic, where generations of families come together on the first Saturday of August each year to prepare BBQ the old-fashioned way, by the ton, in open pits, and on church grounds. Or is it our 1880's Wild West Town? Maybe it’s our Haunted Graves Festival in October. Could be it’s the Wooldridge Monuments, known as the "Strange Procession that Never Moves". We’re not exactly sure, but we’re certain you’ll find your own wild while you’re here.
Carr’s Barn BBQ is a family owned restaurant, located in the heart of downtown Mayfield. In business since 1954, they serve breakfast and lunch and are one of the few places that still use strictly hickory wood to cook their meat for that wonderful juicy, smoked flavor.
A&B BBQ began as a food truck in 2017 and created quite a following over the next year and a half. In 2019, they established a brick and mortar restaurant, providing dine-in, drive-thru, and carry-out service. With specialties like BBQ chimichangas and their famous “Mac Bomb”, the newest BBQ place in town has made quite a name for itself.
For decades, Hoskins BBQ was a popular lunch spot in the small northern Graves County community of Folsomdale. After a kitchen fire forced the store to close, Hoskins BBQ rebirthed in spectacular fashion just north of Mayfield, in early 2019. With a new location and updated menu, Hoskins BBQ prides itself on its Texas-style brisket, homemade pies, and small town service.
Southern Red’s BBQ is another family owned barbeque restaurant. In business since 1998, they opened in their current location, the old Pilot Oak grocery building, in 2007. Southern Red’s is known for their great ribs, barbeque, catfish, county cookin’ sides, cakes and pies, and welcoming in-house dining experience.
